Practicing First Aid
At game night on April 30, Troop 114 practiced what they had learned about first aid over the past month. The scouts had fun and got practical experience trying out their skills under the direction of the older scouts.

The month of April is first aid month for Troop 114. Each week, the boys are learning an important skill. All the lessons are taught by an experienced scout and are always boy-led. Tonight, the boys learned how to make a stretcher from a tarp and sticks. The boys also learned how to safely transport injured people with a fireman’s carry.
On the way home from Providence Canyon, Troop 114 had the pleasure of meeting President Jimmy Carter and First Lady Rosalynn Carter. President Carter passed on words of wisdom about life and faith, and it was an experience the boys will never forget.
The boys also had a great hike and got to experience some very wet weather!
